Deutsch-Asiatischer Wirtschaftskreis e. V. — German-Asian Business Circle

History

Our History

The Deutsch-Asiatischer Wirtschaftskreis e. V. (DAW) was founded in 1995 by Bodo Krüger, Honorary Consul General of Nepal, and has since developed into one of the most influential business clubs with regard to Asia. It is a network of more than 2,500 companies and institutions whose aim is to foster friendships between the countries of Asia and Germany and to build bridges between the cultures.

The German-Asian Business Circle helps its member companies realise projects in Asia, establish the necessary contacts and prepare feasibility studies. Conversely, this service is also offered to Asian companies in Germany.

The DAW organises events on topics that are highly topical in Asia. It offers a regular platform for contact with decision-makers from politics, diplomacy, tourism and business, and for exchanging experience with entrepreneurs who successfully maintain business relations in and with Asia. It puts together delegation trips to Asia and accompanies mid-sized companies through the first steps on their growth path. On these trips, the DAW also offers companies the organisation of seminars and workshops.

Across the entire Asia-Pacific region, the DAW provides access to experts from all business-relevant consulting and legal fields and maintains close ties to the diplomatic community, so that companies do not fail at bureaucratic hurdles in their engagement.

Business summits are hosted in Germany for Asian heads of state and government. Asian investors are supported in establishing themselves in Germany. In doing so, we advise Asian companies from A to Z.

Members and friends make new contacts with partners from Asia, Asian friends gain insights into German business and cultural life, and together they live by the motto: “The only way to have a friend is to be one!”
